Played recently by Troon Welbeck Seniors.
The "Rest of the World" were the underdogs, but a great display gave them a seven hole win. Our trusty first pair of George Oldham and David Shaw held Captain Neil Macinness and Tom Dougan followed by the Yorkshire tykes, John Carr and Bill Duffy defeat of Jim Jeffrey and Tam Ferguson. Our two left handers, Bill Dickson and John Whittaker beat Gordon Taylor and Andy White by five holes, with Captain Barry Scaife holding on to Charlie Watson and Alex Dunlop to lose by one hole. Thanks to Tom McCarroll's Irish grandmother, who allowed him to qualify, he and Eric Clarkson won by two holes over Jim Maxwell and Gordon Hill.
A donation from players and spectators of £44 was given to Troon Welbeck Ladies section for their charity, Ayrshire Cancer Support.
Come and join Troon Welbeck and be involved in our serious and fun competitions.
