On a cold and rainy night well over thirty of us arrived at the South Beach Hotel looking to enjoy receiving some prizes and tucking into an early Christmas dinner. Turkey and Christmas pudding were on the menu with a couple of other choices which we had chosen beforehand and kept a note of !!!!
On arrival we received a welcome drink and had a chance to admire our beautifully decorated surroundings especially the table which was laid out with beautifully wrapped prizes and glittering trophies.
We also had a secret santa table and dutifully in exchange for our gifts received a number which we eventually exchanged for a "gift from santa" Nobody was to go home empty handed !!!
After enjoying our dinner and copious amounts(those of us who weren't driving) of wine the prize giving started
Our captain alongside two esteemed male members distributed the many prizes.
Congratulations to those who have played so well throughout the year especially to Jean Tannock who was heralded as our club champion. Some of us won so many prizes(not me however) that they had to summon their other half to help them transport them home!!!
Our captain Anne Fraser along with some other helpers did a wonderfull job in the orgasisation of the prizes and laying everything out so beautifully.
A cheque was also presented from us to a representative for Alzheimer Research.
Another year ,another prizegiving maybe this year......
