Like it or not we now live in a "digital age" where more and more organisations are using web-based applications and emails as their main methods of communication.
The club is now using e-mail much more extensively than before to inform members of changes to competition details, competition cancellations and re-scheduling as it is a very effective method of informing members, sometimes at very short notice. The club also uses e-mail to inform members about more general aspects of the club including information about the new clubhouse, notice of general meetings, subscription changes etc.
The also club uses "Howdidido" software to administer all competitions and handicaps and this software automatically uses e-mail systems to inform you of e.g. changes to your handicap following a competition.
However these systems will only work for you if they have an up-to-date record of your e-mail address. We have a significant minority of members who do not receive or do not respond to e-mails from the club and one reason for this may be that the systems we use do not hold your correct e-mail address. If you have recently changed your e-mail address or are not receiving regular e-mails from the club for any other reason then please help us to help you by taking the following action:
In the case of Howdidido you can change your e-mail address yourself. If you are have any difficulty in doing this then please let us know and we will try to help you.
For all other e-mails from the club, the system relies on a manual process to make any changes to your e-mail address information on the Club 2000 membership system. You need to inform the club of any change to your e-mail address and we need to manually change the information on our computer. You can do this by contacting the club in person or by sending an email to twgc@btconnect.com.
If you are a member but do not use e-mail then please also let us know so that we can use an alternative method to contact you if need be. If you have any other comments on what could be done to make any of the club's methods of communication more effective then please also let us know of any constructive suggestions you may have.
