Lochgreen, a former Open Championship Qualifying course, is predominantly a links type course with a four hole loop section of parkland from the 11th to the 14th. It is a long course (6785 yard Par 74) but it has been set up to be enjoyable for all golfers with wide fairways and excellent greens. After a long par 4 opening hole on the home stretch, the course hugs the coastal cycle path and railway line from the par 5 second through to the challenging par 4 fifth hole, with views of Royal Troon, Arran and the Ayrshire coast to the right hand side. The tee shot at the sixth hole (a 181 yard par 3) has to clear a heathery mound to reach a narrow green flanked by deep bunkers on either side. The seventh and eighth holes, often played downwind, are birdie opportunities for long hitters and the first nine closes with a longish par 4. The second nine is shorter than the first but can be more testing especially if the wind picks up over the closing holes. The par 3 15th is 234 yards long and well protected and the drive on the par 5 16th is not for the faint hearted with a line of trees ready to punish an errant shot.

Historically,
Darley has been one of the most difficult courses to play to handicap because of its narrow fairways flanked by heather and gorse but strenuous efforts have been made in recent years to make the course more playable by widening the fairways and better management of the rough. The course is very well designed to take maximum advantage of the natural contours of the land and the Darley burn that meanders through the course.  After an opening par 5 on the home stretch the course continues across the road, with Marr College school on the left hand side and playing fields to the right.  The course continues on almost to Barrassie Station before turning for home. Although shorter than Lochgreen, there is more variety to the holes with four par 3s and only three par 5s. Darley is 6330 yards long with a Par of 71 (SSS 72).

At 4869 yards long, with a Par of 66 (SSS 63) Fullarton is the shortest and easiest of the courses and is popular with seniors and ladies and people who have recently taken up the game. It is the course used by our junior section and is often used for Gents mid-week competitions in winter. At 434 yards, the par 4 opening hole on the home section is the longest on the course. After crossing the cycle path the course continues, bounded on all sides by Lochgreen, with a further 11 short par 4s and 6 par 3s of varying degrees of difficulty. The greens are small so a good short game is well rewarded and the course is set up for an enjoyable game for players of all abilities.
