There was an excellent turnout of Welbeck Past Captains on Thursday night for the annual Barrie Quaich Competition played over Fullarton.
On a sunny, but cool evening, Fourteen Past-Captains joined current Captain, Douglas Stevenson, on the course for the trophy, with a further seven joining in the Clubhouse. Competition was keen, the greens proved tricky for most. but not for Barrie Quaich winner - Bill Taylor with 44 points, Joe Carson with 42 points and Robert Carson, third with 41 points.- Well done!
Captain Douglas conducted the prize-giving and invited the founder of the Competiton - Wilson Barrie to mark the 20th anniversary of its inception with a short speech. The Captain's wife, Nicola, provided a marvellous buffet with something for everyone and plenty of it - greatly enjoyed by everyone Well done again!!
